Motor Vehicle Operator

Duties include but not limited to:
Provide non-emergent, safe transportation of eligible veterans and cargo; Operates and provides preventive maintenance for patient transport vehicles; Provides the first contact with the veterans and is responsible for making the first positive impression; Interacts in a courteous and respectful manner with a wide variety of people each day; Responsible to insure only eligible veterans and their caregivers are transported to the Medical Center or satellite clinic and returned to their respective pick-up locations; Work Schedule:

drivers license with passenger endorsement. Must be skilled in the operation of various motor vehicles, up to a 15 passenger bus including driving in all weather conditions. Must be able to perform minor vehicle service and maintenance. Have knowledge of vehicles equipped with special-purpose accessory equipment. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS:
Moderate effort is required in reaching, bending, and turning associated with handling of patients and passengers. Incumbent will be required to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds in loading and unloading materials and/or supplies. Incumbent will also be required to assist patients and employees, when assistance is required in getting on and off vans. The incumbent often performs work in the outdoors where temperature extremes are common. Employee is exposed to hazards in operation of motor vehicle equipment. Incumbent is occasionally exposed to communicable diseases and contamination. Extreme hazards are sometimes encountered while driving large vehicles during hazardous weather/road conditions. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
