Motor Vehicle Operator

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Must be skilled in the operation of multi-passenger wheelchair equipped vans and have a current valid Oklahoma Department of Transportation Chauffeurs (CDL) license. Must be familiar with National Department of Transportation and Oklahoma and Texas guidelines/polices governing motor vehicle operators and well versed in every aspect of patient safety during transport. Skill in driving the vehicle in various road conditions to safely transport patients to their destinations and know how to properly load and secure wheelchair patients in the vehicle. Must know the route and time schedule to follow. Also, must have skill in selecting alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic or other delaying conditions. Must be able to deal effectively with people in a hospitable manner, allaying patients of apprehensions and establishing effective rapport with each. Must have knowledge of vehicles equipped with special-purpose accessory equipment. Know how to use the power devices that operate van lifts and skill in manipulating a variety of controls and understanding equipment gauge, engine fluid level instruments and warning signals. Coordinates trips with the Transportation Coordinator daily determining type of vehicle to be used; deadlines to be met and; any special information important to the mission. Is responsible for understanding the use of VetRide and obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations, as well as the safe loading and unloading of the vehicle. Reports of accidents, breakdowns or equipment failure/needs ect. will be brought to the attention of the Mobility Manager immediately. Employee demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients being served. Patient transport vehicle driver must be able to assist patients into and out of the vehicle, which involves physical exertion and frequent stooping, bending and lifting of patients. Employee works mostly outside and is exposed to dirt and fumes and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle. Operates vehicle in all types of traffic and weather on public roads (or the equivalent) and is exposed to the danger of serious accidents. Employee will drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated roads and interchange systems. Performance of preventive maintenance tasks and manifest rosters are reviewed for adequacy and compliance with instructions. Work Schedule:

Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While operating motor vehicles, the position exerts light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. May need to exert effort to make emergency repairs, such as changing a flat tire. Frequently, bends, lifts and carries equipment, supplies or materials up to 40 pounds. Work is executed mostly outside operating vehicles in all kinds of traffic and weather on public roads and on the facility campus. The position is exposed to the possibility of traffic hazards. The position is exposed to dirt, fumes, grease and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, falls and broken bones when loading and unloading the vehicle.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
