Prepare, cook, and serve all types of foods needed for modified diets for patients of all ages. Prepare food according to medical prescription. Check all food for proper temperature and all other aspects of quality before serving. Maintain high personal hygiene standards and all required safety food handling practices. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Qualifications:
Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the federal wage system job grading standards. No specific length of experience is required. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element:
Ability to perform the work of a Cook, without more than normal supervision. Your resume must demonstrate your knowledge, skills and abilities in performing the following types of tasks:
Prepare a variety of menu items including regular and special diet entrees and dessert items. Work alone or with a higher grade cook, in preparing foods that are roasted, broiled, baked, fried, boiled, steamed, and stew meats, fish, and poultry. Prepare soups, stocks, broths, gravies, sauces, and puddings without the use of packaged mixes. Adjust standardized recipes for the number of servings required in large quantity cooking. Maintain the proper temperature for all foods during holding, transport, reheating, and serving to assure quality control and food safety. Maintain rotation of food inventories to prevent spoilage. Provide assistance to the supervisor in ordering food in accordance with daily and weekly menu. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
